Content Redesign of the National Health Interview Survey

Marcie Cynamon, National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), CDC

Description: The National Health Interview Survey is one of the largest continuous surveys on the health of the nation. Periodic content redesigns are necessary to keep the survey current and relevant. The last content redesign occurred in 1997. The National Center for Health Statistics is reaching out to the user community to provide input into changes to the content and structure of the questionnaire. This presentation will highlight goals for a revised survey to be implemented in 2018, and instruct users on how to submit suggestions for modifications and requests for consistency to maintain trends or comparability with other surveys.
