Using DHS Data to Explore Immigrant Family Dynamics and Post-LPR Trajectories
Guillermina Jasso, New York University (NYU)
Description: This approach uses administrative records from the Department of Homeland Security to study the family dynamics surrounding the acquisition of legal permanent residence and the post-LPR trajectory. It can open the door to the details of how immigrant and transnational families navigate the legal and administrative system in an effort to become legal permanent residents of the U.S. and, later, citizens.
