Administrative Records Data in a Reengineered 2020 Census
Daniel Cork, CNSTAT and National Research Council (NRC)
Description: Famously characterized in recent U.S. decennial censuses as the next, great idea for the next census, data from administrative records sources have a viable chance of playing major support roles in the 2020 census. The presentation will draw from experience of recent Committee on National Statistics/National Research Council panels, including its 2010 evaluation/2020 planning panel and a new standing committee on reengineering census operations in describing how administrative data may increase the efficiency of pursuing households that fail to respond to the census via the Internet, mail, or telephone.
